A desire to help others is why many people heed the call to fostering. Those interested in the foster-care world may feel altruistic and want to help children by making them feel welcome and comfortable in their home. Others want to get involved and fill a gap for a foster child by changing the circumstances of abuse and neglect facing them. Some people are dedicated to tackling a social challenge by fighting homelessness, trafficking, or addiction. A mighty gift we have as humans is the opportunity to do good and choosing to act upon it.
Every child comes to us with a unique story. How children perceive and act in any situation, including how they feel about coming into foster care, depends on many factors. We listen to the children's concerns and continuously adjust our techniques based on each child's needs. Our efforts always center around wanting our foster children to be incredibly proud of who they are and to know that they are capable and highly valued individuals. We hope that by planting many seeds of encouragement, this unconditional love will eventually have a positive impact on the children, their families, and the wider community.
